    Program: July 3 to 28, 2017

    Brief Introduction

    The 9th Peking University Summer School International program will run from July 3 to 28, 2017. The program offers content courses related to China’s culture, literature, history, politics, economy and management, as well as issues of global concern. The program also provides optional Chinese language courses to students with beginner’s-level Chinese language skills.

    All courses will be held at the Peking University campus. Students will receive an official transcript from Peking University upon completion of the program.

    In the past sessions, hundreds of students from Cambridge, Oxford, Yale, University of California, Australian National University, National University of Singapore and other universities enjoyed their summer experience at PKU.

    The program accepts applications from now until May 31st, 2017 .

    Chinese Students (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students) who apply to the PKU Summer School International Program will be charged the standard tuition fee for international students.


    The program offers two types of courses: content courses and Chinese language courses. Students will select courses during the online application.

    The basic tuition fee of RMB 10,000 covers two 2-credit content courses only. Choosing a 3-credit course or a third course will require an extra payment of RMB 2000 per credit. Students will also need to pay an extra fee if they take a Chinese language course (RMB 2,000)

    Applicants need to make sure that there are no time conflicts in the program schedule.


    • 2-credit content course + 2-credit content course=10,000 RMB
    • 2-credit content course + 3-credit content course=12,000 RMB
    • 2-credit content course + 2-credit content course + 2-credit content course=14,000 RMB
    • 2-credit content course + 2-credit content course + language course=12,000 RMB

    Part 2: Chinese Language Course

    The program offers an optional Chinese language course to students with beginner’s-level Chinese language skills. Students can take this course according to their preference and time arrangement.

- Requirement
  • International students, or Chinese students study abroad in the college;
  • Between the age of 18 and 40 (18 and 40 included) ; Healthy;
  • With education background of above college graduation, or currently attending college;
  • ESL (English as second language) students should provide proof of proficiency in English, e.g. TOEFL, GRE, or IELTS test scores;
  • Some content courses require for which relevant academic background.

With name, passport number & expiration date, and photo included

3. Passport photo

A recent passport-sized photo of the applicant

4. English proficiency test certificate

For example, IELTS or TOEFL, only for applicant whose native language is not English.

5. Certificate/diploma of highest education

Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.
