    Educational Objective

    Institute of international finance and trade is one of the important bases of Shanghai foreign studies university.     This major was founded in 1984, aims to develop the mastery of English, international trade and international economic cooperation theory and practice, to well-known China\'s foreign economic and trade laws, regulations and policies, to expand international business potential.

    Main Course

    Most people in the Baosteel group, oriental international group and other large state-owned foreign trade enterprises. Generally, students go to electric, multinationals such as Unilever, Siemens, Maersk logistics, international big four accounting firms, HSBC, standard chartered bank, bank of China and foreign countries, and other joint ventures with Chinese companies overseas agencies.

    Chinese Proficiency Requirements and Entrance Examination

    1. Programs in Hongkou Campus :

    Chinese Language majors require applicants have new HSK grade 4 (total score: 180) or have one semester\'s full-time Chinese training in Chinese university. Those, with new HSK grade 6 (scores shall be no less than 195 or above and the scores of each part shall be no less than 60) and one year\'s full-time Chinese training in university, may be enrolled as a sophomore, and applicants need to take a Chinese Proficiency Test Examination provided by College of International Cultural Exchange.

    Completion of Program

    Diploma and Certificate of Bachelor\'s Degree will be issued to those who have completed the undergraduate program with qualified academic standing.

    Fees (in RMB)

    1) Admission Fee: 4,000 RMB (only for newcomers)
    2) Tuition: 21,500 RMB /Year
    3) Teaching Material Fee: 500 RMB /Year(only for the programs in Hongkou Campus)
    4) Management Fee: 680 RMB /Year
    5) Insurance: about 600 RMB /Year
    The students of programs in Songjiang Campus pay the same teaching material fee as Chinese students. Tuition and any other fees are not refundable once they have been paid to SISU.

- Requirement
  • Applications are open to foreign citizens with reliable financial support and stability who are senior-high-school graduates with an age between 18 and 50 and in good health.
  • Residents from mainland China, Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan who have immigrated, must hold a valid foreign passport or certificate of nationality for 4 years (including) or above, and provide the record or the certificate indicating that the passport holder actually lives overseas for more than 2 years. (If passport holder actually lives abroad for 9 months in a year, it will be calculated as one year.)
  • No knowledge of Chinese is required, but English proficiency of IELTS 5.0 or TOEFL 60 is necessary (if you don't have IELTS or TOEFL certificate, you will need to pass the English proficiency test administered by our university).

Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.

6. Certificate of HSK or Certificate of Chinese language education

Applicants who want to be enrolled as a sophomore or junior in Chinese Language majors shall submit the certificate of full-time Chinese training and academic record in original or notarized copy in English or Chinese, or Certificate of HSK
