Rehabilitation Therapeutics (Physiotherapy)
- General Information

    1. Introduction

    This major of the university has been accredited by The World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT). The program intends to meet the need of economic, social, cultural and scientific advances. It will enable students to understand the essential theory of rehabilitation therapeutics, basic knowledge of medicine and relevant natural science information, thus preliminarily conduct rehabilitation treatment, assessment and prevention for common conditions and disabilities and improve their social communication ability and professional ethics required of a high-quality rehabilitation therapist.

    • Normal somatology
    • Acupuncture and tuina therapeutics
    • Sports anatomy
    • Basis of Traditional Chinese rehabilitation
    • Traditional Chinese rehabilitation technique

    Physiotherapy Oriented Courses:

    • Physical factor therapy
    • Evaluation of Physical Therapy
    • Physiotherapy of Cardiopulmonary Diseases
    • Manipulation Therapy
    • Practice / Application of Physiotherapy of Musculoskeletal Diseases
    • Practice / Application of Neurological Physiotherapy

    3. Graduation and Academic Degree

    A Bachelor of Medical Science will be awarded upon completion of

    • Required credits of all courses in the teaching scheme
    • General points average (GPA)
    • Pass of all examinations
    • New HSK-5≥180 (excluding those of Chinese origin)

    4. Future Career Development

    Accredited by the WCPT, the 4 years education lays a foundation for advanced studies or career pursuits of the graduates on a global scale. After graduation, students may work in the rehabilitation department of Chinese, Western or Integrative Chinese and Western medical institutions, sports rehabilitation institutions and rehabilitation center for senior citizens. Alternatively, they may work in acupuncture, tuina, traumatology and physiotherapy departments of hospitals. They can also conduct education and research in rehabilitation medicine or rehabilitation-related disciplines in medical schools.
