Long-term Chinese Language Program
- General Information

    The program target

    Designed to improve the overall Chinese level of the learners. By consolidating the training for the various skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, enhance the actual communicative competence of the learners in their daily life; by the diverse and colorful classroom activities and extracurricular cultural experience activities, provide the learners learn Chinese in the real language contexts and the phenomenon with full interaction.

    Main courses and the features of the course

    The main courses for the classifications of language

    • Introductory: The courses include the Introductory Chinese intensive reading, the Introductory oral Chinese, the Introductory Chinese listening. For starter whose native language is not Chinese.
    • Primary: The courses include the primary Chinese intensive reading, the primary Chinese oral, the primary Chinese listening. The course is for leaner whose native language in not Chinese, and requires him to master 1000 daily vocabulary or at least leant previously for half a year.
    • Intermediate: The courses include the Intermediate Chinese intensive reading, the Intermediate oral Chinese, the Intermediate Chinese listening. The course is for leaner whose native language in not Chinese, and requires him to master 2000 daily vocabulary or at least leant previously for one year.
    • Advanced: The courses include the advanced Chinese intensive reading, the advanced Chinese reading, Advanced Oral Chinese. The course is for leaner whose native language in not Chinese, and requires him to master 2500 daily vocabulary or at least leant previously for one year and a half.

    Course Features:

    • Education for the class mixed with students from all over the world, advantageous for the multicultural communication.
    • Small class for the teaching, about 15 students for each class. Each student can receive more attention from the teacher and the practice can be more sufficient.
    • Set placement test at the beginning of the term which is convenient for the students to select the starting point of the study that is adequate.

    The cultural experience courses and the linguistic practical activity:

    • Organize the courses in the series of Chinese culture experience for each term: Chinese paper cut, Chinese knot craft means, Chinese painting and the activity for the experience of Chinese traditional festival (such as the dumpling making on the dragon boat festival, the moon cake making on the mid-autumn festival) etc.
    • Organize the activity for the experience of health preservation in Chinese medicine, cosmetology in Chinese medicine, medicated diet in Chinese medicine etc. which are rich of Chinese medical features for each term.
    • Organize the overseas students to visit the cultural relics within Shanghai or the historical and culture cities at the surroundings of Shanghai for each term.
    • Organize the various recreational and sports activities for each term: The sports match like the table tennis match, the fun sports game etc., the Chinese Language Speech Contest, show for the competition of talent and skill on Chinese etc.
    • We offer a variety of cultural experience courses and linguistic practical activities for helping the students to get the deeper idea of the Chinese culture and happily study in a culture environment that is relaxed, positive with diversities.

    Schedule :

    Learning Period: Monday to Friday 8:50-12:00, 20 class hours each week. (1 class hour = 40 minutes)
