    Introduction of ICPM

    • The Department of Construction Management is part of the School of Civil Engineering. The School has international profile with leading researchers working across many disciplines. China is the fastest growing economy in the world. In the next ten years it will be one of the leading economies in the world. The construction sector in China is now the largest single market, with over 35 million people working in the sector. The industry has modernized and is growing in influence overseas. Chinese materials, contractors, and design specialists are now exporting their products and skills to help the development in many overseas countries.
    • The Master of Engineering in International Construction Project Management (ICPM) program aims to broaden and deepen students\' knowledge of contemporary issues in the leadership, strategic management, and delivery of international projects to provide value to stakeholders and society as a whole. The unique characteristic of this program is to expose students to a new way of thinking, and to create awareness of how Chinese organizations operate, manage, and delivery projects in the fast-changing world. The program is practice-oriented. Students will be taught to think creatively, to be innovative with new ideas, and to use tools and techniques for effective management of projects. Students will be taught about problem solving, leadership, and the exploitation of technology. This is a unique opportunity to embrace Chinese culture and thinking and to engage in the world of international construction.


    The ICPM puts China into the context of the global construction market (infrastructure, residential, healthcare, education, commercial, public and private projects). If you want to understand and know more about the Chinese market, its culture, procurement, and how it manages the design and delivery of projects, this program is for you.

    The program will be delivered by professors from universities and organizations from all over the world with experience in the field of construction project management.

    Plan of Study

    Students are required to complete a minimum of 25 credit hours of course work as well as a master thesis for a degree in master of engineering. Admitted students will register in September and complete the entire study within no less than 16 months.

    Tuition and Scholarship


    The tuition fee of the whole program is RMB 158,000, in which the medical insurance (900 RMB/full program) is included.


    • The qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS), Beijing Government Scholarship (BGS), or other scholarship.
    • This program provides 50% of the students with varied scholarship, which may cover 20% - 60% of the tuition fee.

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport. Applicants for master's degree programs should have a bachelor's degree

4. English proficiency test certificate

For example, IELTS or TOEFL, only for applicant whose native language is not English.

5. Two academic recommendation letters

From scholars of associate professorship or higher (must show referee’s phone number and email address on the letter)

6. Personal Statement

Personal Statement with the applicant's signature, written in Chinese or in English.

7. Resume

Written in Chinese or in English

8. Undergraduate school transcript

9. Bachelor's degree diploma

Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.
